6th French Network for Asian Studies International Conference

Organizer: the French Network for Asian Studies (GIS-Rรฉseau Asie):ย http://www.gis-reseau-asie.org/
Objectives: the overall objectives of the conference are to present the latest research and current debates within the field of Asian studies,
to promote transdisciplinary and transcultural exchanges, and to foster international collaborations.
Panels:
Each panel will consist of 3 to 6 speakers (topics are unrestricted).
Participation of PhD students and postdocs is highly encouraged[1].
The following three types of panels will be considered:
– Panels organized under a common topic, with speakers, preferably from more than one country, specialized in different areas or disciplines
– Panels on a co-authored book or a special issue of journal dedicated to Asia, published after October 2015 or forthcoming
– Panels on existing research projects (for instance ANR, H2020, JSPSโฆ funded projects). Several panels can be organized for a given research project.
Languages: English and/or French.
How to submit a proposal? Proposals must be submitted online on the conference website (http://congresasie2017.sciencesconf.org), first by coordinators of the panel and then by each speaker participating in the panel, by31ย Octoberย 2016[2]. Coordinators need to submit: title and summary of the panel (max. 300 words), keywords, list of speakers. Speakers need to submit: title and abstract of their presentation (max. 200 words).

Registration: conference registration is open to all (researchers, students and anyone interested in Asian studies).
Registration fees: For panel coordinators or speakers: 80 โฌ, (30 โฌ for students). This fee includes access to the conference, lunches and coffee breaks. Audience: the price will be announced later.
Publication: there will be no proceedings of this conference, but the Scientific Committee will encourage the publication of special issues by inviting journal editors to the conference.

Organization Committee: It is composed of the management and administrative team of the French Network for Asian Studies (Sebastien Lechevalier, Jean-Franรงois Huchet, Claire Le Poulennec, Malgorzata Chwirot, Catherine Bastien-Ventura, Richard Aroquiame), representatives of the CERI (Center for International Studies) at Sciences Po (Karoline Postel-Vinay, Bayram Balci, Stรฉphanie Balme, Hรฉlรจne Lebail, Nathalie Tenenbaum), and members of the French Network for Asian Studies Scientific Council (Benjamin Taunay, Ines Zupanov).
