Job Details:
The Embassy of Japan seeks a highly qualified person who can perform as an economic researcher and advisor to the Economic Section. You will be required to support the diplomats by producing research and analysis reports on economic issues as well as working within a team of locally employed staff to support the wider functions of the Embassy.
Duties include:
Producing a daily economic report
Producing research/analysis/study reports on UK Government policy, the UK economic situation, and the UK economic relations with the foreign counties including Japan
Keeping diplomats up-to-date and informed on current economic and political affairs; developing an awareness of the issues important to the Embassy
Organising meetings for Japanese diplomats with British parliamentarians, officials and experts
Arranging and supporting events hosted by the Embassy
Attending meetings, seminars and conferences and feeding back to the relevant diplomats
Requirements:
Academic/professional background and interest as well as competence in politics and/or economics
A native command of the English language, both spoken and written
Good IT Skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
Good analytical and research skills
