Position Summary:

Under the direct guidance of the Dean of International Student Services and Enrollment, the Associate Director for International Admissions manages the development, implementation and assessment of international student recruitment activities in order to achieve institutional goals. S/he manages under the direction of the Senior Associate Director for International Admissions the ongoing assessment of the unit operations including application evaluation and recruitment travel processes. The incumbent will also design and implement an effective recruitment strategy within a specified travel territory, and will evaluate applicants for admission into the University. Further responsibilities include counseling and advising students and families regarding the admission process, conducting interviews and presentations, maintaining relationships with guidance and transfer counselors, alumni volunteers, and managing their territory throughout the admission cycle. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and managing specific constituent relationships or projects in addition to other duties as assigned. S/he will be a team player with a strong work ethic, who actively contributes to the office welfare in a high volume, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred and a minimum of 5 to 7 years of significant experience in post-secondary admissions is required. Proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently with excellent communication and presentation skills. Sensitive and responsive to the needs of diverse constituencies. Demonstrated understanding and aptitude for the operational aspects of the admissions process. Must be organized and detail oriented; program development and implementation experience preferred. Fluency in language(s) of the region, knowledge and first-hand experience with the local culture(s) is highly desirable. A knowledge of Asia and recruitment strategy in that region is highly desirable.
