Lecturer in History—Asian History (Job #11188) The School of Historical, Philosophical, and Religious Studies (SHPRS) at Arizona State University invites applications for a full-time, benefits eligible Lecturer to teach undergraduate on-ground and/or online courses in history. The successful candidate will teach classes in introductory and advanced courses in Asian history, defined both geographically and thematically, and other courses in his or her areas of competence as called upon. The online B.A. degree mirrors the on-ground history B.A. offered by the SHPRS; courses are given in 7.5 week sessions. Teaching may occur in an-ground and/or online environment. This is a fixed-term, academic year (nine month) appointment with no tenure implications. Subsequent annual renewal is possible contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of resources, and the needs of the university. Anticipated start date is August 16, 2015.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in History with a focus on Asian history, defined both thematically and geographically by time of appointment
- Evidence of successful online history instructional experience at the university level
- Evidence of successful on-ground history instructional experience at the university level
- Experience with compressed semester (for example, 7.5 week) courses
- Ability to teach undergraduate Asian History courses in on-ground and online setting
