International Student and Scholar Services Advisor

Trinity University seeks an International Student and Scholar Services Advisor to join an established program serving international students and scholars. Preference will be given to applicants with a master’s degree either in international education or in a related field who are detail oriented and have substantial experience working with international students. Two years of prior experience with the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and familiarity with Department of Homeland Security policies and regulations are highly desirable.

U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status is required.

The new Advisor will coordinate activities and duties with the current Assistant Director of International Student and Scholar Services to process visa applications, maintain records, ensure legal compliance with federal and state laws and policies, assist with applications for social security numbers, driver’s licenses, and bank accounts, provide cultural orientation and support programming throughout the year, and teach an introductory course for new students. Duties also include occasional H-1B visa processing for qualified international faculty and staff and updating the program website.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, Social Media expected.

Qualifications:  Must have a bachelor’s degree.
