Job description
Membership and Development Manager
Asia Society, a prestigious, global, educational and cultural non-profit seeks a Membership and Development Manager to manage the General Membership program’s operation and meet its fundraising goal – increase membership base of support through identifying, cultivating and soliciting new members and through upgrading and renewing current members. Direct and handle online/web fundraising.
Assist Director, Patron Programs and General Membership with development projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all aspects of the General Membership program to attract new members and increase support from existing members
- Compose solicitation and acknowledgement letters
- Process renewal mailings
- Enhance online membership
- Generate ideas and tools to increase membership enrollment and revenue, including the development of online fundraising campaigns
- Plan and implement online fundraising initiatives
- Manage web and social network fundraising features, work with internal and external resources
- Liaise with Asia Society Museum staff to organize spring and fall members-only exhibition openings
- Oversee implementation of membership benefits and provide assistance to members, as required
- Partner with Individual Giving colleagues to identify potential Patron and major gift candidates
- Create brochures, program calendars and reminders, as necessary
- Prepare and monitor budget to support general membership groups’ activities
- Generate monthly reports to track membership revenue and analyze fundraising campaigns
- Ensure General Membership database records are up-to-date
- Interface with External Affairs teams: corporate, foundation, research, special events, database and Asia Society programmatic areas: arts and culture, education and leadership, policy and business
- Organize volunteers as needed
- Help with other development projects and duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree and 4-5 years related experience preferred, with emphasis on identification, cultivation and solicitation of donors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Self-starter who is comfortable working under pressure in dynamic environment
- Ability to work independently and as a team player, engaging others at varying levels of seniority within and outside the organization
