Professoriate Posts in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures

Assistant Professor in Japanese Studies (Sino-Japanese relations) (Ref.: 201200646)

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree and a high international standing in Sino-Japanese relations, with a good record of high-quality research and scholarly publications.  The appointee should be able to demonstrate strong academic, teaching and administrative ability, and an ability to promote a collaborative research culture.  He/She will also be expected to teach and supervise students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  The successful candidate is expected to develop a vigorous, independent research programme, to excel in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and to participate in the administration of the program.

A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointees qualifications and experience will be offered.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave and medical benefits.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
