Our Art History program offers both BA and MA degrees, offering a concentration in Museum Studies at the graduate level, and a BFA in Pre-Art Conservation. In addition to the Art History program at the School of Art & Art History, we also offer BA and BFA degrees in our Studio Art program and BA, BFA, and MFA students in Electronic Media Arts & Design program.
At the SAAH we emphasize object-based learning, multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural approaches, and the importance of developing student writing skills. Teaching load will consist of five classes/year spread over 3 ten-week quarters (Fall, Winter, Spring). Classes will range from introductory level courses in the university-wide Common Curriculum to upper-division art history lecture classes and a graduate seminar. Student advising and service within the department is also expected. DU’s Art History program is officially linked to the Denver Art Museum, and use of their collections in all classes will be encouraged.
Requirements: Ph.D. and previous teaching experience required beyond the TA level.
