Position:   Assistant Professor- Modern Japanese History

The Department of History at Towson University invites applications for a full time, tenure-track assistant professorship in modern Japanese history.  ABDs may apply, but Ph.D. (preferably in History) is required when position commences in August 2012.  Teaching load is 3/3 during the first three years, based on balance of assignments thereafter.  Candidates should be able to teach the two-part Asian survey and upper level undergraduate courses in modern Japanese history.  Applicants must possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and show potential for scholarly productivity.
