Job Opening: History of Japanese Interactions with the World or History of Japan

Position:   Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Full Professor

The Department of History at the International Christian University seeks candidates for a full-time position at the rank of Assistant Professor or above in the history of Japanese interactions with the outside world, particularly, but not limited to Asia. The official job advertisement reads: “History of Japanese Interactions with the world or History of Japan, Asia.” The candidate should be able to lecture in English, but necessarily have research and speaking skills in Japanese. The deadline for applications is September 20, 2011 with the hope that the successful candidate may begin teaching from September 1, 2012.
