Greenheart International consists of four branches: CCI Greenheart, Greenheart Travel, Greenheart Shop and Greenheart Transforms.
What we’re looking for:
The High School Programs Department is looking to hire a part-time Program Assistant to work 12-15 hours per week on service-learning and volunteer initiatives for high school-aged exchange students through Greenheart Club International, an online global community of volunteers. Greenheart Club features a network of change makers in an online space where you can log volunteer hours to earn grants for community projects.
Some things you might do:
- Draft monthly e-newsletters to high school-aged exchange students detailing important events and updates on the Greenheart Club
- Assist students with website and log-in issues
- Monitor Greenheart Club International participation of High School Programs students including:
- Running weekly reports on numbers of participants and hours logged
- Approving/Denying volunteer hours
- Monthly prize mailing
- Assist in promotion and administration of Greenheart Trips, Chicago Welcome Program, and Greenheart Club Leader Weekend including:
- Promoting these opportunities to students through social media and email
- Collecting paperwork and answering questions about the application process
- Developing and distributing application materials
- Organize activities, meals and logistics as necessary
- Write 2-3 blogs per month about High School exchange students who are exceptional volunteers
- Assist with alumni stories and efforts as needed
Some qualifications that you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree (or working towards a bachelor’s degree)
- Commitment to cultural exchange, service learning, and community service
- Excellent written, editorial, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multitask
- Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Some experience with WordPress blogs and websites preferred
- Genuine desire to contribute to an organization that promotes cultural exchange and environmental consciousness
