The Japan Times is seeking experienced editors for two positions: New Desk Editor, and Lifestyle & Culture Division Editor.

News desk editor: The Japan Times is seeking an experienced editor, with strong news editing and layout skills to work full time on the news desk. Strong news judgment and knowledge of current affairs, with a focus on domestic news, is required, as well as intermediate computer skills. Knowledge of AP style is a necessity; proficiency in Japanese language is a plus.

Lifestyle & Culture Division editor: The Japan Times is seeking an experienced commissioning editor for its Life & Culture Division. The candidate should have strong editing and layout skills as well as a keen interest in Japanese cultural and lifestyle issues. Proficiency in InDesign/InCopy and the Japanese language are preferable. The position is full-time, but strong candidates available on a part-time basis will also be considered.
