Position: Visiting Assistant Professor, East Asian history
Luther College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of History (East Asian history); a one-year, non-tenure track position beginning late August 2014.
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. preferred by September 1, 2014. The successful candidate should demonstrate a passion for teaching excellence in a private liberal arts setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Specialization within East Asian history is open, but preference will be given to candidates with a research or teaching interest in environmental history or gender and womens history. This position carries an annual load of seven courses to include a survey course in East Asian history, specialized courses in the candidates areas of research interest, an all-college interdisciplinary course for first year students which includes writing instruction, and a first-year seminar to be taught during the January Term.
