A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus a minimum of six years professional experience is necessary. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Creative programming (donor events, exhibit openings, etc.) experience
Ability to conduct classroom instruction - Demonstrated success in developing outreach initiatives in support of academic priorities
- Excellent oral and written English-language skills
- Reading knowledge of Korean
- Interest in building digital collections and curating virtual exhibits
- Ability to create positive relations with faculty, students, donors and support groups

JOB DUTIES
- Responsible for developing, planning and managing the services and collections of the Japan Resource Center (JRC).
- Responsible for selecting and acquiring resources in English, Japanese, and other languages relevant to the study of the region.
- Conducts ongoing outreach to faculty, students and researchers focused on the study of Japan across the social sciences and humanities;
- Participates in the ongoing development of GRC collections and services, and may actively engage in fundraising, grant writing, marketing and outreach in support of the JRC.
- Provides research and instruction support; develop associated programming, and develop, evaluate and manage strong interdisciplinary collections and services in support of the University’s evolving research mission.
- Performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
