Duties & Responsibilities
Reports to the committees’ administrator and performs a wide variety of administrative/general office tasks for the RSEA (Regional Studies-East Asia) and IAAS (Inner Asia and Altaic Studies) graduate programs.
Responds to general phone calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries. Maintains program offices, orders office and event supplies, and manages office communications.
Maintains and updates paper and electronic files, including student/alumni records, databases, faculty information, and numerous informational documents.
Updates websites and handles some financial transactions.
Manages updates for various university publications and websites.
Assists with Admissions meetings and procedures, including logistics, processing applications, correspondence, and reporting.
Organizes and promotes meetings, workshops, and lectures, including mailings and all logistical details. May need to arrange for travel and lodging for guest speakers.
Perform related duties as necessary.
Basic Qualifications
Two years of office experience required.
Additional Qualifications
Editorial/proofreading experience required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Familiarity with Harvard preferred, interest in East Asia a plus.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize, show initiative, and work independently.
Solid computer skills with Apple and Office software; website and Filemaker Pro experience helpful.
Attention to detail and a willingness to strongly desired.
