Call for Papers: Conference of the Australasian Association of Buddhist Studies

December 7-9, 2011

The 2011 conference of the Australasian Association of Buddhist Studies (AABS) will be held in conjunction with the New Zealand Association for the Study of Religions (NZASR) Conference from December 7, 2011 to December 9, 2011 at the Mercure Queenstown Resort, Queenstown, New Zealand.

The conference will consist of two parallel streams of plenary lectures and panel discussions. For the AABS stream contributions are welcome from all academic perspectives of Buddhist studies including textual studies, history, sociology, religious studies, cultural studies, psychology, music, performance and art history. Speakers will have 30 minutes, approx. 20 minutes to deliver their paper with the remainder for questions and discussion. Postgraduates are particularly welcome to submit papers for either conference stream. Calls for papers and proposals for panel discussions (3 papers) for both AABS and NZASR streams can be found at http://www.nzasr.ac.nz/conference/. The call for papers will close on 31 October 2011.
