The Asian Studies Program at Georgetown University is seeking to hire a M.A. Coordinator for the newly approved M.A. in Asian Studies. He/she is responsible for the daily office operations of the M.A. program and serves as the general adviser to 30-40 graduate students and 20 graduate certificate candidates regarding academic requirements, academic policies and procedures, curriculum structure, and students’ individual course plans. The M.A. Coordinator assists faculty with the admissions and recruitment processes and is responsible for handling events for the students.

Responsibilities specific to this position include:

Admissions and Marketing
Scholarship and Fellowship Management
Course Scheduling and Academic Advising
Career Counseling
Alumni Relations
Website Maintenance and Database Management

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree is required but a master’s degree is preferred
2-3 years of experience in admissions, advising/counseling, and/or career development in higher-education
Applicants must demonstrate a high level of organization and be able to communicate effectively
Experience with using social media sites for institutional purposes
Proficient in MS Office and ability to create and maintain databases
Knowledge of Banner is preferred
Applicants must be willing to travel
