The Department of Film Studies, The University of Western Ontario invites applications for one tenure-track or tenured position in Transnational/World Cinema or American Cinema to begin 01 July 2012; the rank of the appointment will be commensurate with experience. At the Assistant rank the completed Ph.D. or equivalent, and experience and promise in teaching and research are minimum qualifications; a strong record of published work in Film Studies is essential at the Associate or Full Professor ranks.
The successful candidate will be a junior or senior scholar with a commensurate record of publication and teaching in South Asian, East Asian, Middle Eastern, or American cinema. He or she will also have an opportunity to contribute to the Department’s MA in Film Studies.
Positions are subject to budgetary approval. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents will be given priority.
