East Asia. One year sabbatical replacement for 2011-12 academic year. Ph.D. preferred, ABD considered. Must possess a broad competence in East Asian history, especially in the 19th and 20th centuries. Area of specialization open (China, Japan), but candidate must be able to teach separate Chinese and Japanese surveys. Teaching load is 6 courses per year and can be taught either 3-3 over two semesters or 3-2-1 (with the one course taught during out intensive 3-week May Term).
